Forget spending hours cooking turkey, slicing ham and whipping up salads, because this Christmas it’s all about sitting back and letting the professionals do the hard work for you.

From elegant four-course offerings to classic and comforting Christmas food, this list breaks down everything from the vibe to what’s on the menu at all the venues serving Christmas Day lunch in Canberra.

And if you don’t want to be left in the lurch, you better get booking – these meals sound too delicious to miss out on.

QT (At Home)

The vibe: Why go out for a fabulous meal when you can stay in? Designed to be shared by groups of six, Christmas Feasts by QT at Home is back for another year so you don’t have to book a table for an indulgent feast. All you need to do is Click & Collect your order from QT Canberra!

The menu: Steamed prawns with Marie Rose and lemon, roasted free range Bannockburn chicken with truffle butter and Christmas Eton Mess with vanilla cream, blueberries, passionfruit, mango and macadamia.

The vibe: A festive four-course lunch with a glass of Champagne on arrival.

The menu: Prawn cocktail with avocado and lime, roast fillet of beef, glazed pumpkin and a dessert of white chocolate and strawberry pavlova.

The vibe: A curated shared-style menu featuring premium local ingredients, festive classics, and a selection of Christmas-themed desserts.

The menu: Double smoked ham, aged Manchego and preserves, roasted wagyu sirloin, duck fat roasted potatoes and king prawn salad.

The cost: $205 per person and $80 per child under 12 years.

The Boat House (Barton)

The vibe: A six-course set menu designed by renowned chef John Leverink. You’ll also have the option to add on a selection of matched alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from sommelier Kate Hibberson!

The menu: Spiced honey-glazed pork loin, Maremma dry-aged duck and lemon myrtle pavlova.

The cost: $255 per adult (food only) and $120 per child (food only).

Hotel Kurrajong (Barton)

The vibe: A classic Christmas lunch that the whole family will enjoy.

The menu: Fresh seafood, roasted lamb, honey-glazed ham, and roasted turkey with all the traditional festive trimmings, plus a selection of desserts.

The cost: $329 per adult, $229 per teen (aged 11 to 17) and $109 per child (aged two to 10).

The vibe: A festive lunch of share-style courses with a complimentary Christmas cocktail on arrival, a special kid’s menu, bonbons for the table, and a photobooth to capture your memories. 

The menu: Roast turkey sliders with cranberry and pistachio relish, Christmas pudding with berries and brandy custard and a seafood platter of Bluefin tuna, Hiramasa kingfish, tiger prawns, caviar and Moonlight Flat oysters.
