Lindsay and Michael Tusk’s wine bar Verjus made a huge impression on San Francisco upon its opening in 2019, quickly landing rave reviews. When it was announced that Verjus would return in 2024 after a four-year, pandemic-induced closure, there was plenty of excitement for those who remembered the bar’s opening year. And it seems the restaurant has barely missed a beat, easily recapturing old fans and making new ones out of first-time visitors.

Yes, Verjus is primarily a wine bar, but with the reopening the team has added a worthwhile cocktail component. Thad Vogler of Bar Agricole created the menu, which plays well with the food and keeps pace with the wine selections.

Verjus serves lunch on Saturdays only, but it’s a worthy time to stop in. Some dishes are exclusively available during lunch, in addition to the full dinner menu.
