This method works surprisingly well! The basic idea is to drill holes in some square stock steel and then do the same on some flat stock or angle iron for the crossbeams. You then wire the bird onto the cross. I first did this with lambs and figured it would work for turkeys as well.
An important part is to have about 8-12" of square stock that is one size up or down from the vertical square stock. You pound that halfway into the ground at a 60 degree angle towards the fire, and the turkey cross then slides onto that. This allows you to flip and invert the turkey a number of ways to get even cooking. I rake coals towards or away from the turkey to control heat as well, that results in much more even cooking than using direct flames.
I started doing this when I was asked to cook a turkey at other peoples' houses. The set up packs up very small (I've taken it on planes and buses) and it allows me to cook outside and avoid the kitchen madness that occurs every Thanksgiving.

Passion of the Christ ahh turkey
Id rather just put my turkey in the oven instead of crucifying it at the gates of hell. This is honestly a pretty psychotic
He died fowl our sins
Asado grilling
Three days later the turkey comes back
Post picks of the meat when it’s done
Bro the turkey died for our sin, show some respect 🙏
Please do this at Christmas. Put a nativity seen in the background!
crucified on a signpost or not, I’d eat it.
I think it may work for camping or rustic cooking but for a traditional meal, the indoor cook and presentation is probably what most are looking for. I tried grilling a whole turkey and even a small one is hard to handle on a grill and turning over and adding coals can be difficult. It turned out better when I cut it up.
I usually crucify my turkeys Jesus style, but I see you’re going with the St. Peter method.
Native Americans in the PNW did something similar with salmon.
I always love new fun ways to cook and to just try stuff but wow does it ever look like you crucified that bird and are offering it up in some type of ritual.
The turkey deserved better

Turkey Jesus? Crucified?
That’s awesome. It reminds me of a preparation from the colonial/early American period:

Why is there no pan to catch the drippings?
Reminds me of when Vader was having Han tortured in Empire Strikes Back.
This is actually a common method for grilling/smoking meat in the middle east. Look up Masgouf.
Is me or the first picture is hard to see? My brain took a few seconds to realize what i was seeing lol. Looks tasty tho!
