The restaurant will operate from a former trucking company building at mixed-used development Standard Assembly, located at 722 A Merritt Ave., according to a release
Founded by Jimmy Pruitt, Moto Moda began as an Airstream pop-up (at Barista Parlor in East Nashville) before partnering on the pizza concept with Andy Mumma, owner of Barista Parlor, Chopper and Maiz de la Vida. The business will offer a motorcycle-centric design aesthetic and some for-sale men’s fashion pieces to supplement the restaurant.
Originally, the restaurant was to have opened in summer 2022 (read here). The Post was unable to determine why the timetable changed.
Moto Moda will be open every day for both lunch and dinner, offering a menu developed by Executive Chef Wes Scoggins. Corey James will manage the bar.
In addition to New York-style pizza, Moto Moda will offer an antipasti menu influenced by mid-century Italian cafe culture and Italian-American standards, the release notes.
Ten custom cocktails made with fresh juices and house syrups will be offered. Spritzes, Negronis, bourbon and tequila cocktails will be accompanied by amaro (an Italian herbal liqueur), wines and local beers.
The aforementioned former trucking company building dates to the 1940s, with Moto Moda taking a cue from the transportation roots of the facility. Within the 5,000-square-foot restaurant, vintage motorcycles – from the 1950s through present – will be displayed (and for sale).
Nashville-based MZA handled the building update design. The architecture company operates in an adjacent building.
