On Wednesday, November 12, the French Heritage Society hosted its annual New York City Gala Dinner Dance – The Art Deco Ball – at a private club in Manhattan. The evening honored the historic French fashion house Lanvin and its Artistic Director, Peter Copping, who accepted the award from James Fallon, Chief Content Officer at WWD, who highlighted the brand founder Jeanne Lanvin’s “groundbreaking” history and Copping’s “inimitable designs.”
Copping spoke to the importance of heritage, which, he said, is “not only what we inherit, it is what we choose to own, to care for, to restore and to pass forward.” His remarks were followed by a live auction led by Nick Dawes, Vice President of Heritage Auctions. The evening concluded with dancing to the Alex Donner Orchestra, followed by an afterparty with tunes spun by DJ Olivier Meiji.
