Made this desert-themed birthday cake for my sweet sister tonight who has spent the last eight years living in the Southwestern US. She adores the desert, and we joked that it would be scorpion flavored, but luckily it’s just dark chocolate, pistachio sponge with pistachio buttercream and pistachio mousse filling. The decor wasn’t perfect, but I’m going to lie, I’m still ridiculously proud of how it looked and tasted. (And can we talk about how hard it is to make a not inappropriate looking cactus? 😅)
