Pasta Boy in Crymych opened last weekend at the old Café Blasus on Crymych Square.
The Pasts Boy restaurant had previously been running at Glandy Cross petrol station and shop, where it occupied the former fish and chip shop.
The restaurant’s pasta, pastries and authentic Italian flavours proved so popular that owners, Paulo Pecorarao and Tracey Ides, decided to expand to a new premises in the centre of Crymych where they offer an eat in and take away service.

The pair have worked hard to recreate the feeling of an Italian café, installing an open kitchen at the front of the premises, so customers can see the pasta being made and the dishes plated up, and giving the walls a fresh coat of paint.

“We do the preparation in the back kitchen but put it all together at the front,” said Paulo. “So people can see how we do everything.
“The pasta machine is at the front. Sometimes we’ve got customers coming in when we are still making pasta, everybody gets to see how we work.”

Paulo moved to Britain 14 years ago after initially working as a music teacher in his native Italy.
He met Tracy while working in a kitchen and the pair have been inseparable ever since.
Their restaurant offers freshly made pasta and sauces all handmade in house as well as a selection of Italian cakes, pastries and small savoury snacks.
There are gluten free options and vegan dishes available.

The couple use flour, olive oil and tomatoes imported from Italy and source other ingredients as locally as possible with organic meat coming from nearby Preseli Hill Farm and other ingredients sourced in the village.
“We try to make it as authentic as we can with proper original ingredients.”
The couple offer brunch, lunch and dinner from 10am until 8pm on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, with pasta available from midday each day.

There is a small are for customers to sit and eat and a take away service.
They are also keen to recreate the experience of an authentic Italian café bar where you would go in the morning for a café and either a sweet or savoury pastry or cake.

Thanks to Tracy’s prowess at as a pastry chef there is a selection of both sweet and savoury treats to enjoy and the espresso machine means that there is always good coffee to go with them.
