And I like rare/medium rare, so donโt wanna hear that itโs undercooked ๐ paired it with real crab legs, homemade red skin mashed potatoes, asparagus and garlic bread ๐๐ป

I saw this before lunch, now everything is going to be a disappointment.

How was it then?

Thereโs just no real benefit to paying a stupid amount more per pound for the bone in a tomahawk. Looks delicious though I just find the idea of it stupid.
I guess it makes sense if you also bought already shelled crab legs from the looks of it. But that could have been a step not included just the phrase โres crab legsโ makes it seem likely.
Keep the asparagus Iโll eat some green beans and take everything else off your hands.

I need to get off this subreddit. Have to eat plain food currently and this amazing looking food is not helping.

What rub did you use on the steak?

The pictures speak for themselves. Perfectly cooked and super juicy too. The only way this could be better is have a second tomahawk steak done the same way.

That’s not within a mile of medium rare, but to each his own.
As someone who likes rare steak, I never eat a tomahawk that rare. It’s a very fatty cut, and at that temp the fat simply can’t render properly. It’s going to be chewy. Deny it all you want, but it’s true. I’ve made lots of these.
Make one next time that’s between 135-140f, and see the difference for yourself. It will be just as tender, but with better texture. It took me a while to accept this truth.

If you want to level up your potato game, whip some heavy cream to mix with your potatoes, then spoon them into a glass 13×9. Drizzle melted butter and garlic over them, the chopped green onion. Bake at 350 for 30, and they are the perfect companion to a nice steak.
