Dense calendar of initiatives in different cities of Poland organized on the occasion of the 10th Italian Cuisine Week promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with the theme “Italian cuisine between health, culture and innovation.”
The guest of honor of this year’s edition is the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, which with its culinary heritage shaped by a unique balance between sea, hinterland and pastoralism increasingly arouses its appeal among Poles. Italian Ambassador Luca Franchetti Pardo emphasized this when welcoming the guests of the Gala Dinner: “Year by year in Poland interest grows in the excellence of Italian food and wine production and in a lifestyle that combines wellness, health and attention to quality, not only among the general public, but also among professionals, students, researchers and operators in the food and tourism sector.” Also in response to this interest, the embassy and the ICE Agency office in Warsaw have edited the publication in Polish of the volume “Italy, the Taste of Quality – Health, Culture, Innovation,” which presents some of the PDO and PGI excellences of Italian food and wine production, which are one of the pillars of the candidacy of Italian cuisine as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
