Dry rub wings, first batch down, hundreds to go. Rectec smoker, start from cold. Started off with the cheapest rub first. Not bad actually. It was my first try and it was a lot of work, feel free to save me some time and tell me the best dry rub recipe for wings so I can try the best sooner. 🙂

    My main rotation includes:

    * Meat Church – Holy Voodoo
    * Kinder’s – Lemon Pepper
    * Fire & Smoke Society – The Usual

    First batch down and already promising, love the dedication! For a quick tip, a mix of paprika, garlic powder, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and a little cayenne usually hits all the right notes.

    I’ve been trying to replicate a flavor for Zapps Voodoo Pretzels in a homemade rub

    ratios I currently have (work in progress)

    1 Lawry’s salt pepper vinegar
    1/2 ranch powder
    1/4 sugar
    1/8 bbq rub
    pinch of jalapeno powder

    pretty good but not exact yet. do like 1-2 tbsp per 8-10 wings right out of the fryer.

    I love dry rub wings always crispy. A place by me does spicy ranch dry rub and they are my favorite. Another does old bay dry rub wings and they are also really good

    That is exactly the attitude I have. I never want to have found the greatest wing – I want to try every possible mathmatical combination in the world.

    Even though I try to expand to other seasonings, I always come back to Holy Voodoo. It’s just the perfect dry rub chicken wing seasoning.
