Staff from Carlton Palmore Elementary School in Polk County shared the students’ steps on “How to cook a turkey.”

TAMPA, Fla. — Have you ever caught a turkey yourself and cooked it in the microwave for one million minutes?

Well, maybe you can try this year.

Voluntary pre-kindergarten students at Carlton Palmore Elementary School in Polk County shared their steps on “How to cook a turkey,” and staff posted their creative instructions.

Most of the students involved all agreed that catching the turkey is the first step. But some said to get it from a shop or even from McDonald’s.

The second step is where students began to deviate, with some suggesting seasoning, others instructing to put oil on it, and one saying to clean it.

The seasoning can vary from pepper and salt to cheese to sugar to even Cookie Crisp cereal, if you’re looking for a sweeter flavor.

Cooking the traditional dinner could also vary, with some recommending putting it in the oven for 18 minutes at 70 degrees or cooking it for 4 minutes at 260 degrees. Cooking the turkey at two degrees for 16 hours on “the stove on the fire” also works.

Polk County school officials turned to the students “instead of using sketchy AI.”

But the instructions were deemed “questionable,” and the staff is now going back to the drawing board.
