Today I am taking olives and I am deep frying them in a massive pot of oil. Yes, that’s right, deep fried olives. Okay, as you can see over here, I have a bowl of olives. There are some just green olives in there. There are some olives that are stuffed with that mysterious red inside. Then over here, I have a big pot of oil. Now, I’m a big fan of all things fried. I went to a restaurant a bit ago that’s 400° F. Went to a restaurant last week and they had fried olives on the menu and I thought they were very cool and very delicious. Now, you may think, Eton, are you just going to take these olives and pour them in? Of course, I’m not going to do that. Why do you ask that question? You should know better by now. Look at this. You want to take those olives, just pour them into flour, and we’re going to do like a mass breading process. Now, the good thing about olives is they have that liquid already on the outside. That’s going to make that flour get nice and sticky. Look at this. You just take them, then straight from the flour, you go right into that egg. Ready for it? Egg goes right into there. Beautiful. Okay. Check that out. Just get that all massaged up like that. Okay, look. Drain, drain, drain, drain, drain. Boom. Okay, straight into those. Now, I mean, that’s this is like most of the work that needs to be done. Just take those. Now, the key is to make sure you get individual little pieces of olive is when you’re breading them, make sure you get lots of movement. We don’t want these all to stick together. We want them all individually to be perfectly coated in that coating. Just like that. Okay, beautiful. Now, watch this. Why don’t you just take those? Look at that. Look at that little olive coated. And look, right into the oil. Easy as that. And now you can just repeat that. We’re just going to fry these up. Now, fried olives, this is a classic dish. You might be thinking, “Lols, why would you fry that?” This is made, I had it at a real deal Italian restaurant or Italian American restaurant. So, just take these, pop those into the oil, and we’re just going to fry those up. It gets nice crispiness on the outside. I mean, what is not good about crispy olives? You have that brininess, you’re going to have that crispiness. I’m going to do a big bath. Ready for it? Look at that. Straight into that oil. Ooh wow. These are going to crisp up. They take literally maybe 5 6 minutes to cook. Not even. Sorry. 5 6 minutes. A minute. And 1 2 3. Just like that. Drain off that excess oil. And my friend, we have just made deep fried olives. I know what you’re thinking. That was quick. That was fast. I don’t even know if I caught every second of that. Yes, you did. You could replay it. It was easy as that. Top with a little bit of salt and let them cool and then give it a try. Look at that. You can still see that green poking through. so that you know that it’s a delicious olive. All right, let’s give these a try. Can we just do a quick comparison? Go like kind of high overhead. As you can see here, we have regular olives. Nice and green, nice and fresh. And these are the fried counterparts. Now, let’s first go for the crunch factor. Let’s see how that is. M. Really nice crunch. Honestly, wow. Get nice and close on those. You have that nice crunchy exterior, but it also warms up. Of course, it really heats up the olive. makes it like extra juicy. The flavors just busting out. Oh my god. If you love olives, this is a quick, easy snack way to elevate. Don’t just put regular olives. Put deep fried olives on the
