    People will probably say it’s a tiny bit fancier than what you’re looking for (which I can understand), but Joann’s on south congress gives a “southwestern diner” vibe and has awesome cocktails

    Jim’s. I’m from the east coast and it’s closest to the double T diner type energy that I’ve seen since I’ve been in Austin

    Monument Cafe in Georgetown is a bit more upscale than this, but lovely and the food is amazing!

    The airport diner in Fredericksburg looks like this. Since it’s right by the runway, you can watch planes come and go as you eat.

    I wish Austin had a single classic diner. However, we do not. Everything is either real low quality, bad vibe, or very bougie. If Dot Coffee Shop decided to come up here and opened up in Austin, it would go gangbusters.

    Gold Burger Diner in Georgetown is pretty great. Ask about their Blue Plate Special since it’s not always listed.

    Not Austin but The Airport Diner at the Fredericksburg airport is exactly this. Bonus entertainment as it’s right next to the runway and you get to watch the planes land and take off. It’s a really cool spot.
