Having recently tried Aldi’s Super Premium Vanilla recently, wanted to see what a step down from it. Honestly despite the cheaper price, I kind of wish I tried the Super Premium Chocolate that was available instead.

I don’t typically go for the cheapest brand of ice cream nowadays so maybe its just been a really long time since I’ve had something like this. But when people say these ice creams are filled with air, man…scooping these things is like nothing. And eating it is like nothing. The only real taste is in the mix-ins. The vanilla itself has very little flavor.

I think my favorite ice cream lately has actually been the Private Selecton (Kroger) Double Vanilla pint, which is a very tasty vanilla on its own that doesn’t need any mix ins or additions like chocolate syrup. It lacks the Super Premium designation, but it still has a good flavor and doesn’t taste so cheap and artificial like this one does.

this is cheap, and I guess worth the price if all you are looking for is the absolute cheapest ice cream possible that isn’t in a bucket. But I think its worth paying extra for the more expensive stuff.
