I am happy with how these turned out but I was definitely humbled by my crippling time blindness with this order lol. It finally occurred to me to time how long it took to decorate each design about halfway through and some of these took over 10 minutes each when I added each part together! With 120 cookies that is… Whew. I had a few late nights I hadn't planned for.
Relatedly, I think the "wedding upcharge" finally clicked for me. It's not that vendors slap a higher price tag on anything that says wedding, it's that orders for weddings will generally include many elements that should be upcharged on their own anyway. Like in my case, intricate florals, close color matching (to the wedding colors), high volume, fancier packaging, etc.
Anyway, I don't think I'll be going into the wedding cookie biz anytime soon… I'm honestly not sure it's compatible with me doing this in my downtime rather than as a full time job! But I had fun and did hone a few skills that will serve me well for small orders.
