As the title says, got my first smoke done and first tri tip, super satisfied with the result. Started out on the easy side to get a hang of how to control temp at first and set up a snake. Made a baby snake, added a chunk of hickory, and let it get up to 275ish. Had a little issue keeping the temp below 300. I’m thinking I made the snake too large using B&B briquettes, went 2×1. Any advice would be awesome!
Regardless, stoked to get more into it and try out more. Just salt, pepper, garlic. Took about an hour-ish to get it to 115, got it heated after for a nice sear. Didn’t trim the cap nearly as much as a should’ve, but still happy with it. New 22” kettle was worth every penny.
