KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — One Kirksville restaurant is getting into the holiday spirit by giving back to the community.

Venezia Italian Restaurant has partnered with First Christian Church to provide meals to those in need.

During the month of December guests can come in and order anything they want off of the lunch menu free of charge.

The manager of eatery said anyone can take advantage of this because Venezia believes no one in need should have to go without.

“Pastor Tim is a regular here and he comes in often so when he called me and asked me about partnering with First Christian to provide meals for people that may be in hard times right now, I was thrilled to jump on it,” said Melanie Godina, manager. “Anybody that needs a meal that is sent this way we will have funds set aside through donation to make sure that everyone gets an opportunity to just sit down and have a really nice meal. We got a really good atmosphere, good service and really good food.”

The restaurant plans on providing meals for the entire month of December.

Their hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday then 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
