Marylebone’s iconic French restaurant to undergo three-month refurbishment with ambitions to regain Michelin star status.

The Evolv Collection announces that Orrery, the acclaimed French restaurant on Marylebone High Street, will close for three months from January 2026 to undergo an extensive refurbishment as part of an ambitious reimagining of the award-winning establishment.

The closure marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the 3 AA Rosette restaurant, with a bold vision to regain its Michelin star, a prestigious accolade last achieved under the leadership of Chef Chris Galvin in 2000. The transformation will include the appointment of a new Executive Chef, details of which will be revealed in the new year.

“This is an exciting new chapter for Orrery,” said Martin Williams, CEO, The Evolv Collection. “After years of delivering exceptional French dining in one of London’s most beautiful restaurant spaces, we’re ready to write the next chapter. Our ambition is clear: to return Orrery to Michelin-starred status while preserving the elegant charm and warm hospitality that our guests love.”

The refurbishment will enhance Orrery’s stunning Conran-designed interiors while honouring the restaurant’s namesake, the orrery, a mechanical model of the solar system that shows the relative positions and movements of planets and moons. The beloved rooftop terrace and private dining room will continue to feature in the reimagined space, offering guests the same unforgettable views above Marylebone High Street.

Last Chance to Experience Orrery as It Is Now

For loyal guests and first-time visitors alike, the coming weeks represent the final opportunity to experience Orrery in its current form and to savour the moments that have made it legendary.

Under the expert guidance of General Manager Fadil (Ismael) Nuha, guests can enjoy one last chance to witness Mathieu Bourdaire’s theatrical presentation of his famous cheese trolley, a spectacle that has delighted diners for years. And don’t miss the legendary Dorset crab, hand-picked at Orrery and served with mango and wasabi avocado, a signature dish that has become synonymous with the restaurant’s elegant approach to French cuisine.

To celebrate this special transition period, Head Sommelier Julio Sierra will personally gift a complimentary glass of Champagne to every guest who books a table before the end of Christmas, a toast to Orrery’s remarkable past and its exciting future.

The restaurant will continue to serve its classic French menu until the end of December, giving guests one last chance to experience the magic of Orrery as they’ve known and loved it.

During the refurbishment period, guests can still enjoy The Evolv Collection experience at Orrery’s ground-floor Épicerie, which will remain open throughout, serving small plates and wine by the glass in its intimate setting. Reservations for Orrery’s final service period are now being taken, with the Champagne offer available to all bookings made before Christmas.
