Jello Merry Traditions booklet Back cover: Your holiday molds p 8/8 On using these molds: To get the most out of your jello brand holiday molds, try these suggestions and tips on working with them. The capacity: both the snowman and the holly mold have a 5 cup capacity. That means you can use any recipe in this book for either mold. Make a vanilla candied snowman, or a holly cheese spread, or any of the other recipes in either form. Unmolding: since these molds are not the standard aluminum molds, they require a different technique in unmolding. Dip mold into hot water and hold for about 15 seconds. Tilt mold slightly on side and, with moist fingers, gently pull gelatin from around edges, creating an air pocket between gelatin and mold. Place moistened serving plate on top of mold. Invert mold and plate and, holding mold and plate together, shake slightly to loosen. Gently remove and center gelatin on plate. If gelatin does not remove easily, dip mold in hot water again. Hint: for easier unmolding, spray snowman or holly leaf mold with pure vegetable cooking spray before pouring in gelatin. Suggested decoration for snowman mold: eyes and nose: nuts, jelly beans, small coated chocolate candies. Mouth: cherry pieces, licorice. Moustache: whipped topping. Buttons: nuts, whipped topping, starlight mints. Hat: licorice, whipped topping. Broom: licorice, whipped topping, candy cane. Note: all recipes presented can be made using either sugar free or regular gelatin.
I’m probably going to try the cheese mold and bring in some bread with it. I don’t have a snowman/holly mold but I picked up a few mini molds at this year’s holiday jello display at the grocery store so I’ll try that.
Thank you! I love these old promotional recipe booklets.
