I visited Dirt Candy with my wife two years ago and loved it. We were in town last month with our teenagers to see some Broadway shows and decided to bring them to Dirt Candy as their first fine dining experience. The meal was great and the kids did outstanding. I wrote a review of the meal and also put together a video.
If you think that taking teenagers to a tasting menu is a waste…maybe you're right! But I think it was a great experience for them and I'm glad we did it.

You know your kids. If you think they will enjoy themselves and know they can act in a manner that won’t detract from other diners’ experiences, nobody can tell you X amount of money is a waste. I was going to Michelin-caliber restaurants before I was ten. I was raised to appreciate fine food, and grew up in restaurants. Those meals were a very valued part of my education, as was travel and trying as many *different* cuisines as possible growing up. Congrats on giving your kids a good start on eating well.
