Family guilt

Does anyone else get this from their families? I have 2 orders this week and a bake sale, but 4 days before I leave for my family Thanksgiving, my brother and aunt (who has made it her mission to be our matriarch although she is awful and the least blood connected) asked me to make cookies for the event THEY are planning. Never mind that I would’ve been happy to help if asked during the planning process. Anyway 4 days is just not enough time, as I have a full time job (which she knows) and large orders for when I’m back.

The “difficult periods” she’s talking about is that I’ve been going through IVF the last 3 years with 3 failed transfers. She has offered words of support. Of course, if they come with strings that I’m not allowed to say no when she asks for anything, I don’t really need her “support”.

As a cookier, are yall getting these too? HOW do you handle it?
