Chester Christmas Market is now running up until a few days before Christmas Day
Chester is the latest North West city to open its Christmas Market – with it situated just over the border from North Wales. The popular event has a host of stalls, wrapped in festive lights, waiting for peckish and thirsty customers this festive season.
Nestled in the heart of the historic city, the market is made up of a range local producers, crafters and artisans selling an array of handmade crafts, jewellery, accessories and stocking fillers.
Chester’s Christmas market was crowned one of the best in the UK in 2024. It’s just a short drive from North Wales and can be reached by car, bus or train, with no entry fee.
On sale is everything from Christmas roasts and Greek gyros to macaroons and mini Dutch pancakes. All these delicious dishes can be washed down with a crisp cold pints, hot chocolates or a mulled wine. Below is the full list of food and drink prices at Chester Christmas Market 2025.

What dates are Chester Christmas Market?
The Chester Christmas Market will run from Wednesday, November 19, until Monday, December 22. The market will be open from 10.30am until 6.30pm on Sunday to Wednesday. They will run slightly later, running from 10.30am until 8pm on Thursday to Sunday.
Where is Chester Christmas Market?
The market is situated in the heart of Chester city centre in the square next to the town hall. Long-stay visitors can park for up to twelve hours in the Little Roodee for £6, whereas Trinity Street, Delamere Street and Chester’s New Market Parking at Northgate offer different tariffs for day visitors to the city.
Evening visitors can park in the New Market Car Park, which is in the centre, covered by CCTV and well lit. This has a flat rate of £4 after 6pm. Tesco on Frodsham Street has opened a new car park and you can park there for free for 4 hours if you spend £15 in store, according to Visit Chester.
Chester train station is approximately a 17-minute walk from the Christmas market. Merseyrail provides services from Liverpool Central to Chester. There are buses from Liverpool to Chester, including the 1 and X1. More information can be found on the Merseytravel website.
