What Maryland crab cakes should look like. Bread, mayo, mustard, lemon juice, old bay, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, egg and only Maryland jumbo lump. Broiled with a pad of butter added when almost finished.

    This is what they are supposed to look like. They do not, in any form or fashion, resemble salmon croquets, or any other patty concoction.

    Here’s the recipe for real Maryland crab cakes:

    a handful of jumbo lump crab, a pinch of cracker crumbs, a shake of Old Bay, and just enough mayo to hold it all together. Broil in a puddle of butter, flipping once.
