Been growing these for a few years now – got the seeds from a neighbor who got it from a neighbor who doesn’t remember if she grew them on purpose or if the original plant was a volunteer.
These came off of three different plants that grew from the seeds of a single pepper.
All of these plants have fuzzy leaves and stems like a Black Cobra but the fruits don’t match that all. This year I learned about the annular constriction on Chinense and since then I keep looking at the calyx on these and thinking I see circular crease but I suppose it’s Dunning-Kruger because as far as I can tell they only make one flower per node.
They are at least as spicy as Black Cobra, much larger, meatier and more flavorful.
OG Neighbor is from Zacatecas and does bring dried peppers across the border but I’ve grown seeds from those peppers and they always look like textbook Guajillo.
