RECIPE ⬇️ Spinach Shrimp Soup
This is a great alternative soup to make when you’re craving a warm bowl of Vietnamese soup such as Canh Rau Mòng Tơi, Canh Bí, Bầu or Mướp but you don’t have any on hand or have time to go to the Asian store. Pick up a bag of Spinach from a nearby grocery store and you’re good!
INGREDIENTS:
1 bag – (8 oz) Spinach
8-10 Large Shrimp (or more if you prefer)
Chicken Bouillon Powder or Soup Seasoning
Sugar
Black Pepper
MSG
Fish Sauce
Rock Sugar
5 cups – water
INSTRUCTIONS:
Rinse the Spinach well, set aside
Peel and deveined the shrimp
Chop and mince the Shrimp until it turns into a paste like consistency
To the shrimp sprinkle on:
1 Tsp Chicken Bouillon Powder
1/2 Tsp Sugar
Dash of Black Pepper
Continue chopping until the seasonings are throughly mixed in with the shrimp
COOKING:
Bring a pot of water to a medium simmer
Form a ball with the shrimp mixture and drop it into the soup
Season the broth with:
1 Tbsp Chicken Bouillon Powder or Soup Seasoning
Dash of MSG
1 Tbsp Fish Sauce
1 Tsp Rock Sugar
Taste and adjust to your liking
Add the Spinach, press down to submerge into the broth
Once the broth simmer, turn off the heat
Serve as is or with rice, enjoy!

my brother's allergic to shrimp, can i substitute it with minced chicken or will that affect the taste greatly
