The Raccoon Valley Radio Caring Christmas Food Drive continues this week with a couple of opportunities for people to help out their respective communities’ food pantries.
The first live remote broadcast takes place on Monday from 4-6pm at the Adel Fareway with Fuller’s Petroleum as the hosting sponsor. The other broadcast this week is on Tuesday from 2-4pm at the Jefferson Fareway with Motor Inn of Carroll as the sponsor.
RVR Co-Owner John McGee says there are two ways people can make donations during the broadcasts that will stay with their communities’ food pantries. One way is to make a food donation by either selecting items to leave at the broadcast table with RVR or purchasing pre-packaged food bags. McGee points out the other way is with a monetary donation.
“It’s easy to make cash donations. So people can leave us cash there at the table, same table that you sign up for a chance to win the $1,000 and get qualified on, But any cash that we get, we’ll turn right around, give it to the store manager, store director, they then turn it into the groceries that they know is needed there at the food pantry right in that hometown.”
Additionally, anyone that comes by during a Caring Christmas Food Drive remote or who makes a donation during the broadcast, can enter their name for a chance to win the grand prize cash drawing for $1,000 on each of the three stations, including KGRA, KDLS and KKRF.
