For me, yes. I remember in college I went to a sandwich shop, I’m pretty sure everyone was baked out of their minds (customers and staff). I ordered a regular, nothing special club sandwich, and I’m not sure if they thought they were hooking me up or something, but they put like triple the meat on my sandwich as they normally would. I distinctly remember it feeling like I was biting into an arm. Couldn’t do it, and since then have been very cognizant of meat to fixings to bread ratios.

Yes. Sandwiches are all about balance.

behind quality of ingredients the most important part of a sandwich is ratio. a sandwich that’s just a meat tower is just as gross as one drowning in mayonnaise or one with tomatoes that belong in a pizza-joint salad

Is there’s such a thing? Yes. But is *this* too much meat? I’d say maybe not!
Ultramolek
Thing is, all that meat is so pumped full of water and preservatives, 8 slices = 1 slice of actual meat. It perfectly encapsulates the absurdity of america. Shit meat by the ton.

Yes. This is too much.

Yeah. I need that fresh crisp crunch from the veggies.

For an IG picture, no. For real life eating, yes.

Yes, we’ve forgotten what quality bread tastes like in this country.
Find some made from organic, non enriched flour with a nice hard crust, and you’ll find yourself putting LESS meat on it.

I was in NY and some wanted to got to Katz’s Deli. Not only is the sandwich overhyped and expensive, I could never possibly eat that much meat. Its just a plate of pastrami someone threw two pieces of bread at.

Yes Also the meat to sauce ratio is very important to me.
MidnightOk8472
Yes actually. I bought a deli sandwich and said damn that’s heavy. Got home and saw that it was loaded with ham and turkey and I’m talking about like 4 or 5 inches high and it was like an 8” sandwich this thing was huge! I thought I was in for a treat and boy was I wrong. That shit was damn near inedible, way too much meat, it messed up the texture and took away from the flavor of the other ingredients on my sub. Honestly, I think I ended up throwing it away. After trying to eat it of course.

Yup and there’s a science behind rolling the slices instead of placing them flat on top of one another to make it seem like more. The air pockets simply create a more delicious sandwich somehow.

Which Macados location is this?

In my opinion, a good sandwich, like any good meal or cocktail, has some balance. One ingredient isn’t meant to overpower all the others – they all have their place in creating a good flavor profile.

For me, yes. That sandwich is unappealing to me. I like a nice balance between meat, cheese, vegetables, and some kind of pickled onions or something.
