Friends, business partners and Italian natives Alex Danci and Mauro Torcivia are ready to scale their humble café into a more ambitious concept. Their street food inspired venue Cose Buone has taken on a new site, with plans underway to give customers even more of what they love.

The café is preparing to move to a prime location on Dale Street, occupying the old PRS Electronics site. The building is set to see new life breathed into it when Cose Buone opens its doors, with plans to create a late-night wine café on Liverpool’s famed brunch street.

The business is owned by friends Alex and Mauro, who arrived in Liverpool from Palermo and Sicily with aspirations of starting their own venture.

Cose Buone first opened its doors in St John’s Market in 2017 before relocating to a fully established unit on Cheapside Street.

Cose Buone is celebrated for its “rustic Italian cuisine,” offering a diverse range of deli classics and sweet treats, and regularly enjoys lunchtime queues along the street.

Relocating to a larger space will give the business better exposure and allow the team to provide even more of what customers enjoy.

The new Dale Street location will accommodate up to 55 guests and extend service into the evening, with Sicilian wines, charcuterie boards, and a larger selection of sweet treats and street food favourites than possible before.

Mauro told the ECHO: “We will still be a coffee shop but this time we will make sure even diners are being included not just for lunch. We will be open late and have Sicilian wines, boards and a real late-night experience.

“We love our customers and how people react to us has allowed us to live out this experience. The city and people from Liverpool give us positivity to express ourselves. We love them and feel so supported. We want this new place to be what everyone loves but bigger.”

The current Cose Buone venue will close and be used as a prep kitchen for the Dale Street site, which is scheduled to open late-August.
