Aldi shoppers are ‘running’ for a £5 festive decoration that they say is ‘perfect’ for the dinner table and is ‘likely to impress Christmas guests’. The supermarket has wowed shoppers by stocking Specially Selected Chocolate Place Settings.
Priced at £4.99 and available in stores now, the 200g pack allows chocolate lovers to personalise their Christmas table settings, featuring four transfers. Aldi explains: “The gold or bronze coloured transfer paper can simply be placed over the decadent chocolate slab and used to write names on the chocolate to give guests the sweetest possible welcome.”
The edible decor has impressed customers on social media, with many fans suggesting the pack is perfect for Christmas hosting. In a popular Facebook post shared on the Snack Reviews group, a shopper named Daniel Christopher Chubb wrote: “New Personalised Chocolate Place Settings at Aldi, with Belgian milk chocolate squares and four transfers, so you can create a personalised festive place setting.”
Daniel’s post garnered hundreds of likes and comments, with many viewers eager to purchase the set. One response read: “I’m buying just to eat the slabs of chocolate.” A second viewer wrote: “Cute.”
Another fan said: “Omg we need some of these for Christmas.” Someone else told their friend: “Let’s get these for Christmas dinner table.” More praise read: “Love these for the table at Christmas.”

There was a similar response on TikTok when shopper @lifewithjenn.x showcased the set in a video that earned thousands of views. Captioning her post, Jenn wrote: “WOW. Aldi UK I love these for my Christmas table!!”
A fan replied: “Oh need these.” Another viewer agreed: “This is SUCH a cute idea!” A different comment said: “Your name is actually on something!!” Someone else wrote: “Craft idea!”
But not everyone was convinced. A different comment said: “But these would melt? Surely.” Meanwhile, a shopper said: “Wishing they were smaller with more in a box … I need 6.”
