Bonhams completed Part I of The auction of The Legendary Cellar of Hostellerie Jérôme: The French Riviera’s Gastronomic Heritage in Hong Kong on 22 November.

Every one of the 509 auction lots was sold, realising a total of HK$25.9 million (£2.54m), surpassing its high estimate.

The Hong Kong auction is the first of a six-auction series of the cellar of Hostellerie Jérôme in La Turbie held across three locations. With over 25,000 bottles, the collection spans French wine regions including Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, and the Rhône Valley.

The restaurant, helmed by celebrated Chef Bruno Cirino, purchased every bottle directly from the domaines upon release over three decades and stored them in the restaurant’s cellars.

Amayès Aouli, global head of wine & spirits at Bonhams, said of the sale’s first pary: “It’s a true honour to have been entrusted by Chef Bruno Cirino as he turns the page to a new chapter, passing on this legendary cellar built with passion.”

We’re also proud to see our strong growth in Asia, fuelled by the region’s continued momentum and collectors’ enthusiastic response to the finest and rarest wines we curate for the market.”
