I love oats & I'm constantly trying new combinations & cooking methods, and this is the recipe I'm currently obsessed with
This oatmeal is kind of like a combination between classic oatmeal & pudding. Personally I like this the most with no solid add-ins
If you refrigerate it overnight, the next morning you can turn it over and have it like a pudding! Choose the amount of liquid based on how thick you want it. I love it both hot & cold!
blend together:
30g oats;
10g pudding powder (~100% cornstarch (e.g. Dr oetker) flavor of choice);
15g protein powder (I have vanilla soy isolate);
5g psyllium husk;
sweetener to taste (I use erythritol);
(+whatever else you want to add. I've done: cocoa powder, vanilla, cinnamon, ground ginger, xmas spice blend, banana…)
Add to:
200-250ml milk (I use soy);
200-250ml water;
Ratio & amount is up to you, depending on how much volume you want. I usually do about 450ml liquid total
Cook at low-medium for a bit to let the dry & wet ingredients incorporate, and then switch to high heat to properly cook the oats and activate the cornstarch, stirring constantly. you'll know it's done when it's become thick and pudding-like, and when it isn't getting any thicker.
There might be some small lumps, you can try to avoid it by sifting the dry ingredients or leaving the oats for longer at low-medium on the stove; but honestly, they're not unpleasant.
The psyllium husk gives it a slightly "jelly" texture, but it isn't overwhelming and I think it works very well with the cornstarch.

Why does it look like that? 🙁
I think it looks interesting! Thanks for sharing. Is it chewy or smooth like pudding?
This is dope, ignore them haters, I also eat a big bowl of oats as OMAD sometimes and that shit rocks man
What am I even looking at here
How many cals would a few drops of food coloring add? I could not eat something that shade of pink, but I’m happy it’s tasty and works for you! Idk if the color+jelly texture would be too much for me.
it sounds good … but it looks horrifying
I thought the second picture was a slab of bologna 😭 I’m curious on how this tastes tho bc I love oatmeal lol
Do yall remember that pink goop from that one fallout vault?
What’s important is that you like it. A jelly textured oatmeal breakfast isn’t for me.
The only thing I eat that’s jelly like is Jello.
Please stop
I saw your post yesterday, and I appreciate you posting the recipe!
Man I must be weird cause it looks like an interesting jelly cake to me and I’m down to try it.
Thanks for sharing OP!
That first pic looks a bit like Cream of Wheat to me. Never thought about having it in pudding form.
I should add that in the U.S., “pudding” only means a very thick custard, not the more solid kinds of puddings Europeans might have for Christmas, so that’s likely the disconnect. To Americans, a solid gelled dish calls to mind weird 1950s dishes with aspic.
You didn’t have to show it naked in that second pic 😭
im sure it tastes good, but this looks like that rubber food they put on display at ikea 😭
buncha haters in the comments, wheres yalls sense of adventure 👹👹
@pics 1-5: WOULD
IDK what anyone else here says, I’m into this. I like the oddness of it and love a good shaped meal. OP thank you for posting this I will 100% be trying it!
Dont listen to the haters this is awesome and you did a good job

idk what this is but i fucking love it and everything about it
I thought made a ham and cheese loaf.
so do you cook the oats, let it cool,and then refrigerate overnight?
slide 3 looks bomb btw reminds me of christmas pudding
I am intrigued
Guys, you do NOT have to refrigerate it and eat it like a pudding, you can just have a big warm bowl of oatmeal 😭😭😭😭😭 I just also like my pudding 😭
