Exports of the Italian food and wine sector to Argentina grew by 24 percent in the January-August 2025 period and by 55 percent in the year-on-year comparison, thanks in part to the new macroeconomic environment in the South American country, which sees, among other things, the strengthening of the local currency and a wide opening to foreign markets.

It is on the basis of this scenario that, in the context of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World and the candidacy for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Institute for Foreign Trade (Ice) organized an event in Buenos Aires on November 19 dedicated to the promotion of Made in Italy cuisine and food products.

The initiative was held at the well-known restaurant ‘L’Adesso,’ where a demonstration by chef Leonardo Fumarola was held aimed at highlighting the values of original Italian products in front of an audience of influencers, local media and entrepreneurs in the import sector.

Ice office director Gianni Loreti introduced the demonstration by recalling the importance of “supporting and stimulating the demand for authentic Italian food products through an intense activity of promotion and enhancement of quality Italian offerings, capable of raising awareness among the vast public of Argentine consumers.”
“It is necessary to make people understand that an original product, thanks to its distinctive taste and superior intrinsic characteristics (organoleptic and otherwise), fully justifies its price differential,” Loreti said.
