It’s almost December and I’m still harvesting Sun Gold cherry tomatoes daily…

This was my first year growing sun gold cherry tomatoes and I genuinely can’t believe how impressed I am. I’m in zone 7a. Started harvesting these since the end of May, and still harvesting them through November. They’re incredibly tasty and prolific. Plant was at least 10ft tall and produced at least 50 pounds of tomatoes.

I started noticing this about six years ago. I am supposedly in zone 7b where we traditionally had November frosts that kill off tomatoes. 5 out of the last 6 years I’ve been harvesting cherry tomatoes, and in some cases bell peppers, for Thanksgiving dinner. I noticed a year or two ago we were reclassified as zone 8. I would not be at all surprised if, with some judicious covering/lightbulbs during cold nights, I could be harvesting tomatoes at Christmas too.

I’m in SEPA and yeah the sungolds probably would still be going if I remembered to check on the frost warning we had and threw a cloth over but I picked a ton of green and still have well over a quart all ripening so that’s nice too

Love these! I still have a few as well.

It’s crazy how long this growing season has been. I just finally pulled out my tomatoes and peppers, mostly to clean up the garden but they still weren’t done.

Same area same results. Sun golds are the only cherry type I’ve grown the last 3 years, super prolific and more hardy than most other varieties, rarely does even a pest bother these plants. Can’t recommend them any more than what’s already been said here

I cut mine down to prepare to remove and it started growing again and I have more tomatoes.
