THE DISPLAY OF GENEROSITY. IT IS A MAJOR DISPLAY OF GENEROSITY IN THE CAPITAL CITY. SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY ARE COMING TOGETHER TO MAKE SURE NO ONE GOES HUNGRY. THIS IS AN AMAZING TREE RIGHT HERE. YOU CAN SEE ALL OF THESE CANS HERE. WE’RE TALKING ABOUT MORE THAN 20,000 CANS THAT WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE COMMUNITY AFTER THE HOLIDAYS. AND JOINING ME RIGHT NOW IS MAJOR STEWART. AND THIS IS SUCH A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY TO COME TOGETHER AND HELP THOSE IN NEED. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU? THIS MEANS A LOT, BUT MORE THAN FOR ME, IT MEANS A LOT TO THE COMMUNITY BECAUSE THERE ARE PEOPLE ARE VERY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBORS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING HUNGER EVEN TODAY, AND EVEN BEYOND THE HOLIDAYS, THERE WILL BE EXPERIENCING HUNGER. AND SO TO HAVE AN EFFORT SUCH AS THIS FOR 42 YEARS, GOING TO REALLY PROVIDE FOOD AND SUSTENANCE TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS THAT ARE IN NEED IS JUST A WONDERFUL THING. AND IT WARMS MY HEART. AND WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE HIT HARD TIMES? AND FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE, IT’S VERY DIFFICULT TO ASK FOR HELP, TO ADMIT THAT THEY NEED SOME SUPPORT. YOU KNOW, THE MESSAGE IS THERE’S ALWAYS HELP, RIGHT? YOU JUST HAVE TO ASK. AND THE SALVATION ARMY, WE’RE ALWAYS OUR DOORS ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO SUPPORT AND TO TO HELP FAMILIES DURING DURING THE TIME OF NEED. AND IT COULD BE ANYTHING. IT COULD BE CLOTHING, IT COULD BE UTILITY ASSISTANCE, IT COULD BE RENTAL ASSISTANCE. ALL THE THINGS THAT PEOPLE NEED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, PARTICULARLY THOUGH AT THIS TIME IN THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH THANKSGIVING AND AS WELL AS CHRISTMAS AROUND THE CORNER, WE JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO TELL PEOPLE THAT THEY CAN COME TO THE SALVATION ARMY AND WILL PROVIDE THE SUPPORT THAT THEY NEED. WE THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND ALL OF THESE WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS THAT ARE COMING TOGETHER HERE AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP ON FULTON AVENUE, MAKING THIS HAPPEN FOR THE COMMUNITY. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE FAMILIES WHO NEEDS A LITTLE EXTRA HELP THIS HOLIDAY SEASON, DON’T HESITATE TO REACH OUT TO THE SALVATION ARMY IN SACRAMENTO, LETICIA ORDAZ, KCRA THREE NEWS. LETICIA.
