South Korea’s Kooksoondang Brewery Co. has introduced wines from three boutique wineries in France, expanding its portfolio of imported premium wines.
The Champagne Jacque Picard winery has been cultivating about 170,000 square meters of vineyards in the Champagne region for four generations. It manages all production processes in-house and produces its own champagne.
Centered in Berru, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, the winery reflects its philosophy of terroir. Using a solera system in which wines are aged sequentially each year, the winery produces champagne with roughly 40 percent reserve wine that has undergone long-term aging.
Pascal Bouchard, founded in 1979 in the Chablis region of Burgundy, is known for a classic Chablis style and vinifies grapes from its own holdings, which include three Grand Cru and seven Premier Cru sites.
Domaine Vincent & François Jouard, a family winery in Chassagne-Montrachet with roots in grape growing stretching back to the 19th century, began full-scale wine production in 1990.
Kooksoondang Brewery said all three wineries produce limited volumes, and only about 600 bottles from each label will be available in Korea annually.
