Decided to open this up while I started to prep for the holiday as tomorrow we are heading to Napa. PNP and was honestly very happy with this. Purchased this on sale at Hedonism in London a few weeks ago.
Starting out I was surprised by the bright red fruit nose. Pretty complex and evolved well over time. A slight VA but it blew off very quickly. Good amount of tobacco and cedar. Iv never used this note before but it smelled like a box of chocolate covered strawberries and not it an overly aged fruit port like way.
From first glass this was really showing well over 6 hours or so. Very mellow tannins but not fully resolved out leaving something very full that would fool me of its age. Seems like it is in a good window right now. Over ripe raspberries, Tobacco, leather, dark chocolate, slight graphite. Very decent lasting finish of gamey, like small fowl. Fair amount of Forrest loam and limestone or clay. (Yes who has never tasted clay at the beach lo)
Extremely clear and little to no sediment. Cork was mostly saturated but came out intact.

I’m a simple man. I see Musar; I upvote.
Holy fuck thats so cool – these wines age so well.
I regret not buying more Musar when they were cheap. Recently drank my last 2010 bottle, which cost me 30 dollars back when I bought it.
Good wines, but not worth it anymore for me.
Glad you had such a great experience!
