I don’t think anyone’s cool with it, let’s be real most aren’t going to reverse image search to figure it out though. Easier to just answer the question and move on.
Shoutout to u/pessenshett for letting us know we we’re being lied to though. I didn’t think to look into it because it just doesn’t make sense why someone would do this lol.

The poster claimed the dish they had in the photo may have food poisoned them and they wondered what the dish was. I don’t think they ever said that the exact photo was theirs… They even have a separate post about being in Montreal, where the restaurant seems to be located.

This is why I think sharing where the sushi is from (when not homemade), should be required.

How is this “stolen content”? They posted a picture from the website of the restaurant they had lunch at asking what it was. They didn’t claim they made it. Didn’t even say it was their picture.
Patient_Mud_4075
orrr maybe he had the sushi, didnt take pics and then tried to find one so he could post it and ask?

I mean they may have been using the picture as an example when they didn’t grab a pic of their own. Doesn’t seem like a big deal to me

I’m more surprised it’s taken this long for the sub to wake up that a good chunk of the more generic “mmm sushi!” or “what’s this fish???” posts on here are just karma farmers using random web images of sushi

If we just get rid of the “what fish is this” posts this won’t be a problem.
