Is there much of a difference between the correlating tins?
For those that have had both, what are your thoughts? I am super curious, so I got both to do a side-by-side later.

I’m invested in your experiment, I thought the lidl and northern catch hot sauce brands would be the same but they were pretty different.

I’ve had great value deens before and honestly, not that bad. Definitely not top of the line but still cheap and tasty

Pro: Kind of hard to fuck up mustard or hot sauce so they’ll taste alright.
Con: these are bottom of the barrel brands. That appealing price point? There’s a reason. I wouldn’t venture beyond these flavors with these brands and if you can splurge an extra buck a can, you can get a lot better. But yo—times are crazy and I’m not trying to judge or anything. But I’ll repeat that you’ll get diminishing returns on other flavors.

Im not sure on the difference. I do know ive had beach cliff a couple of times and wasn’t a fan. Great value are not too bad though…

I kinda like the beach cliff hot sauce ones in a weird, trash-goblin, gotta be in the mood kind of way. I haven’t had the GV ones to compare, but nothing wrong with some cheap tins sometimes.

Great Value deens were large & meaty when I had them. They were firm, and not bad at all. Beach Cliff is what my grandpa always bought, he liked their “fish steaks” in hot sauce. For around a buck a tin, they’re a good choice for an everyday budget fish.

The great value ones are better than most people realize. I get the ones in oil and they’re good.

My palate is not highly sophisticated but GV sardines in hot sauce on Ritz crackers are just fine with this southerner. I keep a six pack in the pantry, ones packed in oil also, for my sunny side eggs on toast. I’m not a source for the mustard ones.

I like your slippers. Don’t spill sardine juice on them.

When I was a kid one of the few “meals” my mom could make was opening a can of the hot sauce ones on the left, a box of triscuits, some sour cream, and sliced avocado. Still the best meal she ever prepared.

I really like the Beach deens in mustard, more smokey than i would have thought and actually pretty good on a cracker with some franks hot sauce

Maybe my pallet’s not that refined. I couldn’t tell the difference between brands. Including King Oscar. All yummy though on hot buttered toast or Wasa crackers with pickles.

Beach Cliff are from Poland, Great Value are from Thailand. The sardines are different species and will look and taste different.

great value is just WMT name for the same product, I just stocked up on great value, they are awesome on crackers

I like all four of them. Not every day. But I like them. I’ve tried all of them on a cracker. I’ve tried the hot sauce variants in “crunchy croquettes” and fish cakes. They were very enjoyable. My particular favorite for cracker is the mustard variety. In that case, I think I like the GV mustard slightly better than BC mustard.
