Over the last month I had the opportunity to check out these four pizza spots in the city. Either they have been on my try list for a while or I have seen them mentioned online.

Everyone is going to have different tastes but here is my first impression of each spot. Just listed them in the order I went to each spot.

Nice Slice

Order: Pepperoni
Thoughts: I got the pepperoni slice. A classic slice of pizza. I found the taste was good. The bottom crust is like biting into a cracker as it is crunchy, which was not something I expected. It didn't take away from the pizza or experience but something that stood out. I would come back and try something else.

P.S. I got there around 1:30pm on a Friday and they had sold out of everything but pepperoni or cheese slices. Go early if you want to hit them up for lunch as they get busy. At least this was my experience a month ago.

Big Trouble Pizza

Order: The Keanu (mozzarella, cream cheese, bacon crumble, pineapple glaze, black pepper and chives)
Thoughts: I looked over the menu a few times and didn't know what I was going to get. The Keanu spoke to me and I believe pineapple goes on pizza. The pizza was honestly amazing and beat my expectations across the board. It is a rich tasting pizza so I would only be able to eat so much. I definitely felt like ordering another slice after I was done.

Mac's Pizza

Order: Lemonhead (Lemon pepper cream, mozzarella, ricotta, cracked black pepper, lemon zest, lemon wedge)

Thoughts: I saw a few people on here talk about this flavour. I love pretty much anything citrus… so I had to try it. The pizza was really good. You get a lemon wedge when you order the slice. It felt like a cheese slice that they found a way to incorporate lemon throughout. So if you love lemon, I would give this slice a try. The place is small and has that vibe of somewhere I would have gone in my 20s while in college.

gram's pizza

Order: Spicy Hawaiian
Thoughts: I love Hawaiian and I love anything spicy. I thought this was going to be the best of both worlds. This was my least favourite slice this past month. Slice fell apart after a couple bites and just tasted ok. I was underwhelmed about the whole experience eating it.

TLDR: Big Trouble Pizza and Mac's Pizza are places I will 100% hit up again and bring friends. I have to try more of their slices. Nice Slice was good and if I am across the street at Emmer, I would try them again. gram's pizza just didn't do it for me.
