Primo Doughnuts – $
Before i start with this review,I want to say something. I don't care if you agree with me, or not. I love hearing contrasting opinions. Maybe I had a bad day and that colored my experience, or maybe I should give it one more try, but try your favorite thing. Discussion is good!
But recently I've been getting a lot of hate because I took pictures wrong, or "your thumb is weird". I have thick skin, these comments don't bother me, but they do make these reviews not pleasant to make – I almost didn't post this one.
Just because I didn't like something you do, or do like something you don't, doesn't make me a bad person. Taste is very subjective. Just cause I like it, doesn't mean you're obligated to. Similarly, just because I don't, doesn't mean you can't. It's OK to have a different opinion than me and I would love to hear it! Just don't insult or be negative (man that thought was hard to censor!) just because I didn't perfectly mirror your thoughts and emotions.
That all said, let's start the review and please don't be a doughnut.
My wife and I went to Primo Doughnut today, I got the buttermilk bar, she got an apple fritter.
Buttermilk Bar: it was good, just a touch dense and there wasn't much going on flavor-wise beyond sugar and fried dough. It was enjoyable, but not amazing, 6/10
Apple Fritter: a really good standard apple fritter. Pretty much exactly what you imagine, with nothing special. The kind of fritter you imagine you'll get, when you go to a doughnut shop. But they nailed it. Simple is really good when done perfectly. Probably 2nd best for behind California doughnut. 8/10
Overall, I enjoyed it, but if we had driven across town for it, I would have been disappointed. But we were like 3 blocks away, anyway, so it worked out well
