Anyone can make this bread. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes. Sprinkle the counter with flour and
shape the dough into a baguette. It’s very easy to shape the dough into
long, thin, and uniformly thick baguettes. Let’s make one more. Place the dough on a baking tray. Cover the dough and let it
rest for 30 minutes. Sprinkle some flour on top. Spread the flour with your hand or a brush. Score the dough with a razor blade or knife. To create steam, sprinkle water
on the empty spaces of the tray. Cover the tray with another tray. Bake in a preheated oven at
220°C / 428°F for 15 minutes. Remove the top tray and bake for another
15 minutes at the same temperature. The bread is perfectly baked. Can you hear the crackle? It’s so appetizing. Making French baguettes at

  2. Hi, I tried your recipe and everything went well, but I think the baguette was a bit heavy, "I remember them being lighter" maybe I used the wrong flour? Which flour should I use? What kind of flour is the tablespoon of flour to add? In Italy maybe we have different acronyms, can you help me? Thanks for the recipe and for your help. Alessandro

  3. I have just finished baking these for the first time using your recipe. It’s such a cheap bread to make.
The only thing I changed was I used rice flour to sprinkle on the baguettes before baking and I used a pan at the bottom with boiling water for 15 minutes at the beginning so I didn’t need to cover it. The bake time was perfect.
