My grandma made a turkey, used no seasoning besides thyme and plain butter for the rub. I was tasked with taking it out the oven, she said no more than three and a half hours, but since last thanksgiving the turkey was completely raw I cut it open to make sure and sure enough raw, an extra hour and a half, then we arrived at this beautiful frankly mouthwateringly delectable creation.

A creature died only to have it’s remains desecrated in this way

Can you please explain why Nan used her tinfoil hat to cook the turkey?

Dude the thermometer thingy is still undeployed. That’s rawer than a Wutang Clan album.

Please tell me there are yummy sides at least?

Looks like she kept on the plastic thing that keeps the legs together. I’m sure it’s “oven safe” but I always take it off, it’s weird.

The more I look at it the more it looks like a deranged cyclops monster with his head scalped open (when you turn it to the side…)

It’s OK OP, my sweet grammy can’t cook turkey either.

the plastic is still in the tail

    Flavor Country shouldn’t be plastic

My grandmother in law makes a unseasoned turkey that borders on Jerky…..I debate showing up with a live turkey and making her apologize to it for desecrating one of its kin

All expectations now sit firmly with the gravy

She left the plastic trussing on the legs. That means she most likely left the plastic bag of giblets on the inside, too. I would check for that and make sure it’s cooked on the inside.

If it makes you feel better my grandma once microwaved the turkey. Something about the best invention for cooking… She was like 86 and insisted on cooking it all herself.

Was she making this for years? How did the family survive Thanksgiving?

Maybe granny is tired of cooking and she doesn’t know how to tell you

Still might not be as bad as the 77 cent Halloween cookies in the background

I think someone should relieve Nan of Turkey duty. Let her relax.

Every year grandma forgets one step of the process

That’s authentic, you need to be starving like the original colonists

desecration of a corpse. I get now why people say that they don’t like turkey.

Time to take away the keys to the oven.
