Costco ran out of ciabatta so we made do. Lettuce and roast beef layered with pepperoni and spicy aoli on a well toasted croissant

Croissants are generally one of the best things you could make a sandwich on. Pretty much anything goes good on it.
I have never really been disappointed anytime I used a croissant to make a sandwich. I do find that I prefer the sandwiches have a leafy lettuce or green when using them for some reason. It’s just something that’s needed to make it proper and take it to the best it could be.
I can usually take or leave lettuce on most of my sandwiches and breads. But oddly I have this strong preference with the croissants.🤦🏻
