Does everyone else’s strawberry jam turn out a little dark like this?

    Mine turned dark still tastes great. 😊 I assumed it was normal.

  3. If it’s a cooked down jam without added pectin, that could explain the dark colour…or if you used really ripe strawberries.

    Totally normal, and not too dark, they more than likely used really fresh berries right off a field.

    When I use the Autumn strawberries from a local farm the colour is that much darker than the June/July berries.
    The flavour is more intense too.

    This colour can also occur when cooking it down without pectin.
