A manufacturer that distributes products under the Boar’s Head brand has issued a recall for select cheese products due to the possibility of listeria contamination.
The Ambriola Company has issued a recall for some of its cheese products, including two that are produced under the Boar’s Head name.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the recall includes select pecorino romano cheese products that the Ambriola Company supplies to Boar’s Head. The recall includes Boar’s Head grated pecorino romano cheese (6 oz.) and FS grated romano cheese. Both products have sell-by dates from November 21st, 2025, through March 12th, 2026.
The affected items may be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria commonly known as listeria, according to the recall notice. There have been no illnesses or consumer complaints reported to date for any of the recalled items.
What to Do With Recalled Items
Consumers should not consume and throw away any of the recalled items. Consumers with questions or concerns about their health should contact their physician.
Another Boar’s Head Recall
While the recalled products were manufactured by Ambriola and not Boar’s Head, this isn’t the first time a Boar’s Head product has been involved in a recall. The Boars Head brand and select deli meats were involved in a deadly listeria outbreak in 2024, according to USA Today.
The outbreak reportedly sickened 61 people across 19 states, and resulted in 60 hospitalizations and 10 deaths.
Boar’s Head issued a statement regarding the latest recall, telling USA Today that the latest recall is an isolated incident related to The Ambriola Company and that no other Boar’s Head products are impacted by this recall.
“This supplier produces several products for a variety of different companies and brands, including Boar’s Head,” the statement said.
