SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Thursday, Joe’s Italian Food served over 800 people at their annual Thanksgiving dinner.
This has been a long-standing tradition for Sullivan County for over 15 years. The meal had all your Thanksgiving favorites, like turkey, stuffing, and even pumpkin pie.
People had the option of either dine-in, takeout, or having the food delivered to them.
Owner of Joe’s Italian Food, Nora Leone, says she believes it’s important to be there for people during the holidays.
“Everyone deserves to have a meal and fellowship on Thanksgiving. And I was blessed with the opportunity to own and run a restaurant. There’s a sense of community and love, and just being grateful that we’re here and healthy and able to give back to the community.”
Leone also said she looks forward to being able to continue to give back to the community in the years to come.
