We’ve never been frosting people. My mom always had us cut out the cookies, decorate them with things like sprinkles and nuts and candies, and then bake them, but I rarely ever find other families who do this.

Is there a name for this specific kind of decorated cookie? Was it more common in the past and has since gone out of style? I love the creative process of it.

Yes!!! We never used frosting but would go all out with the sugar and sprinkles. Made me nostalgic

This is like a pizza with no cheese or sauce. I hate it but will die defending your right to make these “The Wrong Way.”

Yep we didn’t use icing because I don’t like it. Always sprinkles or other candies.

This is exactly the way we made them when I was little. I’ve done it with my grandkids because it’s so much easier for little ones to decorate this way.

  5. I’m an icing on sugar cookies gal, but these look delightful!
