I found some black marks on some Carolina reapers in my garden, are these safe to eat? What does this mean? Thanks in advance

  1. Some peppers turn purple before fully ripening, it’s all good, if you like them green go for it, I’d wait until they are fully ripe also to have viable seeds which those green ones probably didn’t produce yet.
The taste changes as well if they ripen more, these will probably just taste like green bell peppers

They’re blushing before changing color. Sometimes those dark marks fade to red or sometimes it keeps that blush after ripening. A couple more weeks and those will be totally ripe.

They aren’t ripe yet. Peppers this year have been turning more black in spots before turning red and or orange.

But looking at your leaves…get a water meter. Your leaves should be more flat, pliable…not wavy. That’s a symptom of inconsistent watering. Either over or under-watering or drastic swings between both. A cheap water meter will help you know when to or not to water. Inconsistent watering leads to nutrient deficiencies. It can cause your plants to not be able to absorb and utilize nutrients efficiently and that can make plants more susceptible to pests and diseases.

I’m attaching a video that you may find helpful.
