Today I ordered a pizza for pickup from Palermo's Pizza on 63rd and Hamlin in the West Lawn neighborhood.
I always order a regular thin-crust "Palmero Special pizza, which is their take on the supreme pizza. It comes with green peppers, mushrooms, onions, and their in-house-made hand-pulled sausage.
The pizza is well-balanced with an ample amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings (green peppers, mushrooms, onions, and sausage). The crust of the pizza is not paper-thin like tavern-style pizza; rather, it sits somewhere between a thin-crust and regular non-thin-crust pizza. The cheese has a good chew to it, but you do not have to fight it with a long cheese pull. The sausage is hand-pulled onto the pizza, and the sausage does not compete with or overpower the other components of the pizza.
A unique or not-so-common feature of their pizza is that they use a marinara-style sweet sauce, which may or may not be something you enjoy. In my opinion, the marinara-style sweet sauce balances out nicely the savoriness of the pizza. If you do give Palermo's a chance, I highly recommend you order the "Palermo Special." I believe it's the best way to try out the sweet sauce if you have not tried a sweet sauce style pizza. Overall, Palermo's Pizza never disappoints and is one of my go-to pizza places.

Palermo's also does deep dish, stuffed pizza, or you can request a paper-thin style pizza. However, I have yet to try them, and they are known for their regular thin-crust pizza. Personally, when it comes to pizza, I prefer thin crust over deep dish or stuffed pizza, but feel free to enjoy your pizza however you like. I believe they do delivery for a minimum amount, but I am unaware of their delivery radius, as I always order for pickup. Palermo's has other locations outside of Chicago in Frankfurt, IL, and Merrillville, Indiana. But the 63rd and Hamlin location, West Lawn, is their original location. They also have a dining room if you prefer to dine in and make a night of it by trying their pizza or an expansive menu of Italian food.
