Took the fam camping this year for thanksgiving and decided to try this method for turkey since it looked easy to do. Burned off the galvanization a few days before the trip, wrapped a stick in foil and ran it through the bird. Used a whole 20lb bag of charcoal and about 2 hours later we hit our target temp.

For how easy it was, this was super delicious, moist, and everyone that had it was blown away how stress free it was to make. Definitely recommend!

    id say that’s way more charcoal then needed but awesome i love different styles. could drill some holes and run some hooks on top and do some ribs as well.
